Rumours surrounding Britney Spears' brand new studio album have started to surface. After a successful comeback with the Circus album and year-long world tour, it seems Britney is back on top.
Her seventh studio album, which is due out May 2010, is rumoured to feature a duet with Lady GaGa. The two princesses of pop have worked together in the past, as Gaga has written for Spears, and Spears was supposed to feature of Telephone, but was replace by Beyonce because Spears wanted it to be on her album.
However, will a new duet featuring the two be on Britney's new album? Who knows! Her first single, which should be hitting the airwaves this March (soon eh?). She's also working with David Guetta on the lead single from the new album.
Personally, I cannot wait for her 7th album! As far as I'm concerned, Britney never left and she's always going to be on top.
Welcome back to 'Upgraded', this time I will be looking at the new 'Home Full HD - 3D Video Cameras'.
Well, we've all seen the 3D Movies, but imagine getting your hands on a 3D Video Camera yourself! There are a few 3D Video Cameras set for release this year.
Panasonic's '3D Cam' and 'Ikonshop A Cam-3D', both use two lenses that shoot in HD, then the footage is captured in 'RAW' Files, for high quality, then they both get put together to make 'High Definition 3D'.
But these cameras don't come cheap, Panasonic revealed that their camera would cost in the region of £13,000, they also revealed that it would arrive on shelves late 2010.
I was randomly thinking earlier about things that make my blood boil (how exciting!) and I actually came up with a list. See if you agree with any of them:
1) People who are obviously not paying attention when you're talking to them - this doesn't necessarily happen to me, I just see it happening amongst my friends and I find it very disrespectful. At least look interested!
2) All those cash for gold adverts. Aren't they just all the same?!
3) Katie Price and Alex Reid. Why are people so obsessed with them?
4) School - don't teachers realise that after being in school for six hours, we want a break when we get home? We don't want to be spending our time doing extra work, even if it will 'help' us!
5) People who jump on bandwagons just because the thing is popular.
6) The rubbish TV on Saturday nights - Harry Hill's TV Burp seems to be the only highlight! Bring back Doctor Who and X Factor soon, please!
7) Those Twilight fans who only like the saga because of Edward Cullen and Jacob Black. I think it's really shallow.
8) People who steal seats during lessons even when there is a seating plan and you've been sat there since the start of the term. I've had experience of this and had to spend two hours on my own, away from my friends, cracking my knuckles in anger for the whole lesson. Nah, I didn't really. I suffered in silence... *sniff*
9) Talking of which - people who are constantly clicking/cracking their bones. It sounds horrific!!
Imagine living next to who ever you want! Like you can't choose your family, you can't really choose your neighbours. They already live there when you move in, or they move in after you do. They could be great neighbours, or neighbours from hell.
However, imagine if you could have ANYONE you wanted living next door to you. It could be a celebrity, a character, anyone!
We want you to let rip and tell us who you want to live next to you, and WHY!
The best entry will win 3 songs from iTunes (yes, 3!). Just leave your entry in the comments + your email address so we can contact you if you win. You can also enter via email, at contact@the-dusty-shelf.co.uk.
You've probably all heard her horrendously-catchy single Tik Tok by now and Ke$ha seems to have shot to fame out of nowhere. A while back she featured on Flo Rida's number one hit 'Right Round' and she has just released her debut album 'Animal' which is set to sell extremely well. However, some people really hate her sound, and don't 'get' her.
Her lyrics are about having fun and some people really don't like this, also claiming that she is trashy and looks 'dirty.' Also, this video of her Ke$ha-fying the Hollywood sign has enraged many people:
On the other hand, many people love her infectious, care-free sound, claiming that it's a refreshing change. I love her album and think she's brilliant - somebody who doesn't take herself too seriously for once. What do you think? Do you love or hate Ke$ha?
It seems to me, that everybody these days have their own favourite stand-up comedian. And we go crazy for them! With shows like Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow and Mock The Week, we are being introduced to more and more new acts to try and make us laugh.
It's not just in the U.K either, it's happening in many countries!
What does it take to be a comedian? Is it a hard job? Some may say yes as it's just 'telling jokes' but others could argue that it's difficult to come up with new jokes, and to put yourself in front of thousands of people (and worldwide if it's on the internet). But is it hard to do? I think the main thing anyone would need for this job is charisma, being able to address the general public with ease- I mean...Have you ever heard of a shy comedian?
Studies (carried out by The Times) show that to be a comedian, you need a high IQ - this surprised me a bit. But then again, comedian Harry Hill is actually a qualified surgeon as well as a well-known comedian.
I love stand-up comedy and have many favourites, so this subject is an interest of mine! Do you think being a stand-up comedian is a hard job? Or just too easy? Who's your favourite comedian? I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matter!
Hello again, it's time for another 'Upgraded'! This time I will be looking at Microsoft's new Controller Free Gaming and Entertainment add on.
Project Natal is a new next generation gaming device by Microsoft for the Xbox 360. The add-on device banishes the need for a controller.
To make this possible, there is a 3D Motion Sensing Camera located at the front of the system. The camera tracks the player's movements, and projects them into your TV Screen.
It is possible to be four metres away from the sensor when you can have control of the Xbox with your body! For example, if you were playing a Football Game, you would strike your foot to hit the ball on the screen.
A video showcasing 'Project Natal' can be seen below:
We don't know that much about Natal as yet, but we do know it is set to be released in the U.S in November 2010.
After the biggest earth quake in history has devestated the country of Haiti, the world has shown that it really does care, and we came together and we have been donating millions to help Haiti.
Now it's Simon Cowell's turn. The huge power that he is, he decided to create a charity single (in a short amount of time too). The single is a cover of Everybody Hurts and it features the voices of some of the biggest faces in music.
Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, JLS, Mirah Carey, Rod Stewart, Susan Boyle, Cherly Cole and Mika to name a few.
I urge you all to download this single or buy a hard copy. Every penny goes to helping Haiti, and it's a great way to get involved. You can listen to the single below. What do you think of the song, will you be buying it?
My names Pulse, and I'm a new member of The Dusty Shelf team, and I am you're Earthling helper!
Within the World of War, Terror and Financial struggles, it can often be difficult to look on the good side of life. Today however is a different day. A day of positive thinking that can intern change the world.
How easy is it to wake up in a bad mood and become progressively moody until you finally hit the pillow at night?
What if there was a way of removing this negativity and instead, replacing it with such positive thoughts that you could walk around with a smile all day and find even the hardest things to cope with a walk in the park?
In fact, what if I was to tell you that this yearning for positively is literally a thought away?
A group of Visionaries, Philosophers and mental Healers came together in 2006 to produce a book and DVD of how positive thinking works and how you can remove all negative thoughts from you're life.
Now, until last year I didn't believe that you could control emotions or thoughts, I believed that how you felt about something was written in blood and unchangeable. However, this was completely wrong. You see, the group of Visionaries who came together claimed that with Positive thinking, you can change you're world to how you want it.
So how does this work? According to they’re book; The Secret (available in book stores) we all work by attracting 'things' into our lives. If you want to attract money or fame, wealth or friendship then you have to believe that it will come to you. Think, Believe, Receive. Think about what you want, think about it, see it in you’re head, write it down if you wish! Then believe that you will get what ever it is that you want, that new bicycle, trip to America, more money perhaps? Once you've thought about what you want - its time to believe it will happen in you're life.
The Secret states that positive thinking and the ‘attraction’ it brings does not happen instantly. You can’t think about a new bike, believe it will come into you’re life and suddenly hey’ presto’ a bike appears in you’re front room. No, I have come to find that by believing in something creates a journey from now and to you receiving it. Be patient and keep believing.
Many people find The Secret difficult to understand and put into practise as I did. However after a while I came to realise that if I thought of everything negative in the world, I would attract more negative thoughts into my life. Positive thinking is definitely something you should try if you're feeling down or upset, because it helps you realise how great this world is - and with Spring on the way it helps you truly respect nature and all the flowers, animals and scenery it has to offer.
Keep positive, the Worlds too great for you to be unhappy :)
I don't know about you, but I find myself living for the weekend more and more, even if I'm not doing anything! School seems to depress me so much, and I cannot wait for 3:00pm Friday afternoon to come, so my weekend can officially start.
Like I said, even if I have nothing to look forward to, I just cannot wait for the weekend. Maybe it's because I walk around like a zombie for 5 days, and then I crave a good lie-in for a few days to charge up my batteries.
Or maybe it's just because THERE'S NO SCHOOL (am I the only person who really hates school? Leave a comment...).
So, seeing as it's Friday, I want to know what you have planned for this weekend, and what your favourite type of cheese is...mine in Chesire.
Hello, welcome to another instalment of Upgraded! This time I will be looking at Apple's new iPad, set for release in March.
The iPad is a tablet computer by Apple Inc. It is similar to the iPod Touch, apart from one thing, it is a whole four times bigger than the Touch!.
There will be two models of the iPad, one with WiFi and one with WiFi and 3G.
The tablet runs over 140,000 apps, including most of the ones that are available on the iPhone and iPod Touch.
I think the best feature of the iPad is the touch screen, just imagine having a 9.7 inch screen controlled by your finger tip. The system is capable of:
Surfing The Web
Checking Your Emails
Uploading and viewing your photos
Watching HD Movies
Using iBooks, letting you read and download E-books.
Using Google Maps
These are just some of the things that you can do on the iPad.
But, the iPad doesn't come cheap, WiFi models range from £320 - £450, while the WiFi and 3G model ranges from £400 - £520.
WiFi models are set to be released late March 2010, while WiFi + 3G Models are set for release late April 2010.
You will probably remember when Alicia Keys collaborated with Jay Z to produce the mega hit that was 'Empire State of Mind.' Now, she's stripped the song down and made her own version, imaginatively called 'Empire State of Mind Part II.' Taking the chorus from the original, she has added new verses and created a fantastic new song.
The song is so simple and yet the chorus is just beautiful. It's almost haunting in a way and it has constantly been on repeat for me. In the original, Jay Z's rapping got on my nerves a little but this new version seems absolutely perfect. The lyrics are very powerful too, and I'm sure this'll be another deserved hit. Have you heard it? What do you think?
Rating: 5/5
Extra Recommendation: This is a new feature added on to the end of my posts where I just recommend a song that has been unreleased (so far) from a certain album. This week's one is 'Marching On' by Timbaland and OneRepublic from the album 'Shock Value II'. I personally adore this song and think it's the new 'Apologize.' It's brilliant. Listen now!
The Sugababes 7th Studio Album, and first with the brand new album was leaked online yesterday. The new album was sheduled to be released last November, but after Keisha left the band, the album was pushed back to March 5th 2010.
An album which has already spawned 3 chart hitting songs (Get Sexy, About A Girl and Wear My Kiss) is bound to please all, and as a Sugababes fan, even more so with Jade Ewen now in the band, I hope this album is a huge success.
I now love this album and if you want to listen to it, click HERE to download, but remember to support the Sugababes on 5th March by buying the album.
Hello! I'm Gadget a new team member to The Dusty Shelf, I will post on new and old Gadgets, the good and bad.
This time on Upgraded, I will take a look at the iPhone that was 17 years ago back in 1993.
The Message Pad was an early PDA, it was roughly the size of an Adults foot and cost more than £600. You didn't get much apart from Handwriting Recognition Software.
It was possible to interact with the system with the stylus supplied. But a bad point, it was powered by Four AA Batteries! No Power Packs or Mains Power.
The Message Pad was the first of 7 designs that used the Newton Platform. It was a great idea, but it went horribly wrong.
Surprisingly, believe it or not, this was the equivalent to the iPhone in 1993!
It seems the loved up couple couldn't wait, and fresh from his Celebrity Big Brother victory, Alex Reid and Katie Price have tied the knot; in Vegas! Yes, that's what happens when you wake up in Vegas it seems.
They wed yesterday in a private ceromony with only a few guests and no huge media coverage.
"We look forward to the future together. We can't wait to get back and celebrate our marriage with our friends and family who fully support our wishes."
Jordan's agent said: "Katie and Alex are delighted to announce they got married in a private, simple ceremony. Their decision to marry has not been made with any media deal in place. It is purely down to their love for each other."
So it seems you won't be seeing any of this wedding splashed across the pages of Heat.
